Translucent Shells – a poetry card

 shell_beach_Card

Translucent shells cover my eyes

white grains of sand

count the years

getting older

sober

looking over my shoulder

half of my years behind me

how many before me?

Sinking deep into aquamarine waters

warm

peaceful

no worries

Translucent shells cover my eyes

protecting me

shielding me

bobbing

I take a breath

and decide

not to worry about

tomorrow
